Email Migration

Hi Folks,

We’re shutting down our old server and moving your account to our new, much faster and more secure server. Because you have an email account, we need to check that you aren’t using the old server name in your email program so that you can continue sending and receiving email.

Your server name should be listed as mail.yourdomain.com where “yourdomain.com” is your website’s domain name (which can be .com, .net, etc.). For example, if your email address is blue@mydomain.net your server name should be mail.mydomain.net.

So wherever I say “mail.yourdomain.com” below, you should put your own domain with “mail.” at the beginning.

The process is different for every email program, we’ll cover the most recent versions of the most popular programs here. If you have questions or need help, you can contact our support team with live chat on the website or by submitting a support ticket in your client portal.

Below you can find directions for (click to jump to) Mac Mail, Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird and iPhone/iPad.


Mac Mail

  1. In Mac Mail, under Mail select Preferences
  2. Click Accounts at the top of the new window if it’s not already selected
  3. Click your email account (blue @ icon)
  4. Check if the two Host Name entries are asta.itabix.com, if they are then change them to mail.yourdomain.com
  5. Click the red dot at the top left of the window. Mac Mail will check to insure that the account is set up correctly, then you’re done!

Microsoft Outlook (Office 365)

  1. On the top left click File in the navigation bar
  2. Click the Account Settings box under Add Account
  3. In the window that pops up, check the Server field. If it is asta.itabix.com, change it to mail.yourdomain.com
  4. Below that, click on Outgoing Mail
  5. Check the Server field. If it is asta.itabix.com, change it to mail.yourdomain.com
  6. Click Next and then Done, then you can click the arrow at the top left to return to your email program. You’re done!

Thunderbird

  1. Under Tools, click Account Settings
  2. In the left column under your email address, click Server Settings
  3. In the right column, if the server name is asta.itabix.com, change it to mail.yourdomain.com
  4. At the bottom of the column, click Outgoing Server (SMTP)
  5. Find your email on the right (if there’s more than one email listed), click on it and click the Edit button on the far right.
  6. In the window that pops up, if the server name is asta.itabix.com, change it to mail.yourdomain.com
  7. Click OK, then click OK again in the main window

iPhone/iPad

  1. Touch the Settings icon
  2. Scroll down on the left side and select Passwords and Accounts,then on the right select your email account (Mail).
  3. Under IMAP or POP, select Account – (your email address)
  4. In the popup, look to see if Host Name is asta.itabix.com, if it is change it to mail.yourdomain.com.Then below that, touch SMTP.
  5. Check to see if the primary server is set to asta.itabix.com, if it is then change it to mail.yourdomain.com, then touch Done at the top right of the window, then Account on the top left, then Done again on the top right. Your iPhone/iPad will then check to make sure the settings work, and you can then exit settings.
  6. You’re done!
