WordPress is an amazing, relatively easy to use way to develop and manage your company’s website, but it does require management (updates, security hardening, and troubleshooting and fixing any problems that might come up). This can be done by you or your company, or by companies which provide WordPress management including web developers, companies that specialize in WordPress management, and some web hosting companies such as Itabix. WordPress hosting services are provided by numbers of companies with different types of packages.
WordPress Hosting means hosting and managing a website that is built in WordPress. This can be done by the company itself or can be managed by companies which provide hosting services. WordPress requires regular updates and maintenance to insure that the website loads fast and there is minimal chance of crashing or threats to the website. There are few basic things that need to be taken care of for the smooth and uninterrupted running of the website
WordPress Installations: Installation can be done manually relatively quickly (although it requires some expertise), or many hosting providers include a system that will install WordPress automatically.
If you are installing manually, you need to ensure that you know all the requirements to complete installation, including proper access to the server through an FTP client or using the website management software and a properly set up MySQL database. Download the latest version of WordPress to your computer, upload the file through FTP or a file manager and decompress it in the directory where the website will reside, create a MySQL database, and add a user to it with full permissions. Once you have all of that ready, you can run the WordPress installer to complete installation and voila! You have a basic WordPress website set up. At this point, you can choose a theme, set up pages, create a blog, etc.
Once the website has been developed and you “go live”, you’ll need to manage it.
Updating, Securing, and Repairing.
WordPress Updating: Any website developed on WordPress (or virtually any other CMS or content management system) have to be regularly updated. There are new technologies getting added, security updates, etc. Regular updating will not only insure the website is functioning optimally and at full speed, but also keeps your website safer from hacking and bugs that could shut down your site or infect your visitors.
WordPress Security: For making a website secure it I important to choose a server accordingly. Four types of hosting can be used Shared, Dedicated, VPS and Managed. There are many service providers which provide these hosting facilities. A secure and reliable service provider can be chosen and it is more recommended to chose from Dedicated, VPS and Managed Hosting, as they provide a secure system and there is no chance of threats to the website or the data. It is suggested to consider the budget, flow of traffic to the website and quantity of data to be uploaded to the website before deciding the hosting mode and packages.
WordPress Repair: Websites occasionally need to repair. A website can be attacked by a virus or may also be hacked and need to be repaired. Repairing the website can take many forms. It’s usually best to hire an experienced person to repair and rebuild it, or you could replace it with the last good backup of the website but, if so, you’ll want to insure that the same problem doesn’t repeat by making sure your site is disinfected (delete viruses and malware) and up to date.
